Start the Day Laughing
I’ve gotten into the habit of starting each day laughing. It kind of sets the tone for the craziness that can happen throughout the day. Something that really had me laughing out loud the other day was viewing these car dealer commercials. These guys are brilliant marketers! Anyone who has ever had a car buying experience will certainly relate to the “badger”. Click here OR go to www.youtube.com and search for Badger Commercials. There are about ten of them. Send me something that made you laugh today and I’ll try to publish them in the next newsletter. Share the laughter!
Summer Hours
This summer we’re trying something new. Office hours will be Monday – Thursday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. (MST) We’ll all get to spend a little more time outdoors, at the pool, hiking or on the Harley!
Invoice Payments
In just a couple of clicks it’s easy to pay your invoices online. It’s fast and secure. You do not need a PayPal account to pay online. Payment can be remitted from your bank account (that’s called Electronic Check), any major credit card or with PayPal funds if you have an account. Alternatively, if you’d like us to keep your credit card on file we will charge the card when invoices are emailed. You will receive a receipt via email when the transaction is processed. We prefer online payments as the postal mail is becoming less reliable.
What’s a Bacon App?
Chris Hanson from Colorado was recently featured on Channel 7 News for inventing the Bacon App for the iPhone. Click here to see his interview.
Everyone for Hire
This is a new Colorado directory for Colorado service providers. They did something really smart when you sign up for your free listing. It’s a real simple signup process and they provide 3 email boxes so that emails you type in will be notified of the opportunity. AND then you get some kind of discount for the referrals. Viral marketing at it’s finest! Take note that the official website hasn’t even been launched yet. www.everyoneforhire.com

Savvy Web Marketing in 5 Minutes
Cleaning, Flowers & Chocolate
I got a coupon in the mail from Posh Maids for $25 off first purchase. Among the five bullet points was this: Flowers and chocolates for every cleaning. Now, who wouldn’t like that? At the bottom of the coupon was this: 100% Green Company, organic products, paperless. Another WOW! Are you imagining how you could create something WOW like this for your business? Now the only thing that would make it a triple WOW for them is to have their website look as professional as this coupon did!
Using Animoto for Business
Remember awhile back when I mentioned the website www.animoto.com for creating your own slideshows? Just look what Mickey Baxter has done for her beautiful flower notecards - click here. Doesn’t that make you just want to order ALL of them? Or check out this one of hand painting a mural in 8 days.
Visit Artistic Voyage and see what else Mickey has created. We’ll be placing these videos on her site very soon. Send us your animoto videos and we’ll try to include them in the next Muse News.
Open House with Style
This company is brand new and has a great concept that is brilliant – it’s a win/win/win for Realtors, Small Businesses and those looking for homes. It is like a mini trade show of business owners set up in a beautiful home for sale through a realtor. Read the article from the Denver Post and visit their website at www.openhousewithstyle.com If you’re a small business in Colorado and want to get more information call Penny at 303-220-0366. Find out how to participate to sell your product or service or where the next event is scheduled.
Are you Twittering?
I gotta tell ya, this can be time consuming and addicting. I’m still weighing out the time vs. benefit. Stats show that 60% of people who start on Twitter become Twitter Quitters. The piece I find fascinating is that it can be educational and easy to find resources. The company is growing rapidly and new uses for it are developing as we speak. So, we’ll see what transpires in the next few months. Below are just a few items I’ve “tweeted” about. I also downloaded the Twitter widget for MAC and that’s pretty handy.

Personally Speaking
I took a class at Tagawa nursery on how to plant vegetables in containers. It was so interesting! Having grown up on a farm, I didn’t know it was really possible to successfully plant veggies other than in the ground. I also learned which herbs to plant with certain vegetables. I planted 2 tomatoes with 1 herb (basil) in the same fiber pot. The beauty of planting in containers is there is no weeding. I like that! The instructor had a class evaluation for everyone to fill out and at the bottom was a coupon for 10% off anything purchased that day. That’s a great idea! How about putting a coupon at the end of your evaluation next time you are speaking? This could promote more back-of-the-room sales for your products or services. What are you learning about this summer? I always enjoy hearing from you. ~ Anita |
